Vladimir Kulenovic conducts the Utah Symphony in a performance of Stravinsky – Suite from The Firebird (1919 revision) at Abravanel Hall this April.
Russian composer Igor Stravinsky composed this orchestral piece when he was still a young and relatveily unknown composer. The piece is based on Russian folk tales of the magical firebird. The piece was first performed on 25 June 1910 much to the critics approval and Stravinsky soon rose to fame.
Vladimir Kulenovic reconstructs this piece in what is family concert and so suitable for children age 12 and over.
